A resource can be a person, a room or equipment, with its own capacity.
The problem
A simple diary is enough as long as you're the only limit on a booking. But if a room or a piece of equipment is also needed, your diary alone isn't enough any more.
Two appointments can both be free in your diary and book the same room at the same time.
Many booking tools only know about people. A booth or a simulator doesn't exist for them. You then have to check by hand.
A resource solves this problem. It has its own availability, separate from that of people.
