The problem
A booking taken twenty minutes before the hour is rarely good news. You are already on your way, you are not looking at your phone, and you discover the appointment on arrival — or worse, you do not discover it at all.
For some services notice is not merely a comfort: a room has to be prepared, equipment brought out, a questionnaire sent in advance, or simply travel allowed for. A slot bookable to the last second promises something you cannot deliver.
Minimum notice puts that constraint into the product rather than into a line at the foot of the page that nobody reads. What is too close does not appear, so it cannot be booked.

The setting is a duration expressed in hours. It applies at the moment the client looks at your availability.
- You set the noticeTwo hours, say, or twenty-four, or forty-eight. The choice depends on what you have to prepare and how quickly you look at your calendar.
- Slots that are too close disappearA client looking at your page at 2pm with twenty-four hours' notice will see nothing before 2pm the following day. They do not see crossed-out slots: they do not see them at all.
- You keep the final sayThe notice applies only to public booking. From your calendar you remain free to put an appointment in within the hour if someone rings and it suits you.

Can I still take an urgent appointment?
Yes. The notice only constrains online booking. Entering by hand from your calendar ignores that filter, precisely so that you can say yes when you want to.
Is the notice the same for every service?
Yes, it is a business-level setting. To close off one particular service at certain times, the lever is its own hours.
What notice should I choose?
The shortest you can genuinely honour. Notice that is too long closes slots you could have filled: if you check your calendar several times a day, two to four hours is often enough.
