Templates per service — instructions that fit the session
A service can have its own email, which takes precedence over the general template.
The problem
A single message for every service forces you down to the lowest common denominator. You can only put in what applies to everyone — which is to say almost nothing useful.
Yet the useful instructions are specific. A first session asks people to arrive ten minutes early and bring a document. An appointment at someone's home needs the floor and the door code. A workshop needs particular clothing. Putting all of it in the same email makes it unreadable; putting none of it in makes it useless.
The message therefore has to be able to descend to the level of the service.
How it works in Kagenda
A template defined on a service replaces the general template, for that service only.
- You open the service concernedThe template sits alongside its other settings: duration, price and payment mode.
- You write the specific messageWith the same placeholders as the general templates, plus the instructions that belong to this session.
- It takes over automaticallyBookings for this service receive this message; every other service carries on using the general template.

Frequently asked questions
Do I have to redefine every template for a service?
No. Only the templates you customise on the service concern it; for the other moments, the general template continues to apply.
What happens if I change the general template afterwards?
Services with their own template are unaffected: they keep theirs, which remains the priority.
Is this useful for a first appointment?
It is the most common use. Make the first appointment a service of its own, with its welcome message and its preparation instructions.
