When does the confirmation go out for a paid service?
Once the payment is secured. Until the payment goes through, the booking is not confirmed and the slot is only held temporarily.
Can the client add the appointment to their calendar?
The confirmation gives them the date and time. On your side, your appointments can feed Google Calendar or an ICS subscription for Outlook and Apple Calendar.
What if the client receives nothing?
Check their spam folder first. The calendar also flags emails that did not go out, and you can resend the confirmation by hand, to a different address if need be.
