Exclusive service — block everything else when you have to
Some services take up everything: they block the whole slot, not just a place.
The problem
Not all services take up the same room. A private hire, an intervention that takes over the whole premises, a service that needs all your equipment: during that time nothing else can happen, even if your calendar formally shows space.
Without an explicit rule the calendar does not know that. It sees an hour-long service on one resource and considers the other resources still available. A client books in parallel, and you are left choosing which of the two to disappoint.
Declaring a service exclusive tells the availability engine that this slot is not shared.

What is the difference from a service that takes up a resource?
A required resource only blocks that resource: if you have two rooms, the second stays bookable. An exclusive service blocks everything, whatever the number of resources.
Does exclusivity prevent manual entry?
It warns you of the clash as it would for any other booking. The final decision remains yours, from the calendar.
Can exclusivity and multiple places be combined?
Yes. A private hire can take several participants while still ruling out anything else happening at the same time.
