The challenges facing paintball sites
Paintball is played in groups
It is never one person booking, it is ten. And ten times worse when they do not come.
Kit is finite
Twenty masks, twenty markers. Beyond that the game does not happen.
Stag parties
Booked months ahead, sometimes cancelled, and never confirmed spontaneously.
The exact number of players
It changes three times before the day, and it determines everything else.

Practical guide: Paintball sites
- A deposit per player, not per booking: that is what makes the group announced the group present.
- The capacity is your stock of kit, not the size of the site.
- A "number of players" field, editable up to forty-eight hours before.
- Open the booking horizon to six months: stag parties get booked very early.
- A reminder at forty-eight hours to confirm the final number.
Frequently asked questions
Can I take a deposit per person?
Yes, rather than per booking.
How do I cap the number of players?
With a capacity equal to your stock of kit.
Can I book several games in a row?
Yes, as consecutive sessions.
What if the group cancels?
The rule you set applies, shown before payment.
What rules apply to a UK paintball site?
Paintball markers below the standard muzzle energy used in the industry are not firearms, so no certificate is required, but everything else is your risk assessment. Eye and face protection to an appropriate impact standard must be worn in all playing and chronographing areas and must never be removed on the field — that single rule is the industry's whole safety case, and it is where claims come from. Chronograph every marker before play and record it, brief every player, and set a minimum age with written parental consent below 18. Public liability insurance is essential and your landowner will require it; UK Paintball Sports Federation membership is the voluntary standard. If you serve food or drink, food business registration applies.
