What qualification do you need to teach skiing?
In Britain, none by law: indoor snow centres and dry slopes are private facilities, and the operator sets the requirement — in practice a BASI Level 1 or 2 for teaching, plus their own induction, insurance and a DBS check for work with children. Abroad is where it gets serious, and it changed after Brexit. Teaching for reward in France requires a carte professionnelle with recognition of your qualification and, at the higher levels, the Eurotest; Austria, Italy and Switzerland each run their own regional recognition regimes, and working without them carries real penalties. British instructors also need the right to work and, in most cases, a visa. Check with BASI and with the destination country's authority well before the season.
