Booking software for Psychologists
The weekly session goes in once and for all, the reminder goes out the night before, and nobody rings you while you are listening to someone.

The challenges facing psychologists
The weekly slot
It is the frame of the work. Rebooking it by hand every week is a waste of time and a fragility.
You never pick up during a session
Fifty minutes without a phone, eight times a day. Calls pile up and get returned in the evening.
Late cancellation
The session is payable, but saying so yourself is uncomfortable. Without a written rule, the conversation comes round every time.
Discretion in reminders
A text reading "appointment with your psychologist" on a locked screen is not a small thing.

Practical guide: Psychologists
- Book the weekly session on recurrence: the frame holds by itself and you stop thinking about it.
- Write your cancellation rule into the booking conditions. It applies without you having to invoke it.
- Personalise the reminder text: your name is enough, the speciality is not needed.
- Ten minutes of buffer between sessions: talking does not stop on the hour.
- Keep your personal calendar synced: what you block elsewhere closes the slot here.
Frequently asked questions
Can I book a weekly session for the whole year?
Yes, with recurring bookings.
Can I change the reminder text?
Yes, service by service.
How do I set boundaries around late cancellation?
With a written policy shown before confirmation, and a notice period.
Is Kagenda suitable for health data?
It holds what you put in it, nothing is read and nothing trains a model. It is not a clinical system and holds no case notes.
Is "psychologist" a protected title in the UK?
Not on its own, and this is the nuance that trips people up. The Health and Care Professions Council protects "practitioner psychologist" and the specific designations — clinical, counselling, educational, forensic, health, occupational and sport and exercise psychologist — and using any of those without registration is a criminal offence. The bare word "psychologist" is not protected, so someone with a psychology degree and no clinical registration may lawfully use it. Chartered status with the British Psychological Society is a separate, voluntary mark. Insurers, the NHS and most referrers work to HCPC registration, so state your registered title precisely on your booking page.
