Booking software for Mobile hairdressers
The client books, leaves their address, and the diary counts the journey on top of the treatment — so that your day actually holds together.

The challenges facing mobile hairdressers
The journey is never in the diary
Forty minutes between two clients, invisible on the schedule. You arrive late at the second and apologise to the third.
The address arrives by text, the night before
Or not at all. You set off without knowing whether there is a lift, parking, or a water supply.
Free travel you never dare charge for
Twenty miles for a £25 cut. The conversation about travel costs is awkward, so it never happens.
The client is out when you ring the bell
You are already there. It is the most expensive no-show in the trade.

Practical guide: Mobile hairdressers
- Set a buffer equal to your average journey. It is the setting that changes everything in this job.
- Travel charges by area, shown before booking: the question stops coming up.
- A required "floor, entry code, parking" field saves ten minutes per client.
- A deposit every time: you are the one travelling, the risk is not the same as in a salon.
- Group your appointments by area by opening certain postcodes on certain days only.
Frequently asked questions

How do I account for travel time?
With a buffer after each appointment, invisible to the client.
Can I limit myself to certain areas?
Yes, by opening certain postcodes on certain days.
What if the client is not there?
The deposit rule you set applies, shown before payment.
What do I need to work as a mobile hairdresser in the UK?
Less than people expect. Hairdressing is not a regulated profession, so there is no licence and no required qualification, and registration with the Hairdressing Council is voluntary. What matters in practice is insurance: public liability and treatment cover, which most insurers will only write against accredited training. You will need to register as self-employed with HMRC and keep records for Self Assessment, and if you carry stock and equipment in a car your motor policy needs business use. Allergy alert testing before colour is an insurance requirement in all but name — document it.
