Automatic activation of payments — it comes on when it is ready
As soon as Stripe declares your account able to take money, online payments switch on by themselves.
The problem
Verifying a payment account takes time and happens in stages. Between the moment you start and the moment you can take money, several hours or several days may pass, without your knowing exactly when the change occurs.
If activation in the software is a manual setting, two mistakes become possible. Switching on too early: clients run into a payment that fails. Forgetting to switch on: you believe you have been taking money for a week when your services have stayed free.
The software has the information — the state of the account is known. There is no reason to ask the user to repeat it.
How it works in Kagenda
Kagenda records the moment your account becomes able to take money, and relies on that rather than on a tick box.
- You connect your accountThe Stripe journey runs its course; documents may still be outstanding at the end.
- Kagenda follows the state of the accountUntil Stripe says payments are possible, online payment stays inactive.
- Activation happens on its ownAt the moment the account becomes able, the services configured with online payment start asking for it. Nothing for you to do.
Who it helps
Frequently asked questions
What happens if I set up a deposit before Stripe is ready?
The setting is kept but has no effect until taking payment is possible. It takes effect automatically on activation.
How do I know where I stand?
The payments page shows the state of the connected account and the Stripe requirements still outstanding.
Can payments switch off again afterwards?
If Stripe suspends payments — a missing document, a further check — online payment stops being offered. That is why outstanding requirements are displayed before it comes to that.
