Is energy healing a regulated activity in the UK?
No. Healing is not regulated, there is no protected title and no qualification is required; the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council holds a healing category on its Accredited Register, and registration is voluntary but is what insurers and venues ask for. The constraints are on claims, and they have teeth. Section 4 of the Cancer Act 1939 makes it a criminal offence to advertise any offer to treat or cure cancer — no qualifier saves it. The CAP Code requires evidence for health claims, and the Advertising Standards Authority has upheld many complaints in this field. Never suggest someone stop prescribed treatment, and never offer diagnosis.
