Booking software for Dental practices
A scale and polish, a crown, an emergency: three durations, sometimes three chairs. The diary knows before the patient calls.

The challenges facing dental practices
Treatments from ten minutes to two hours
The same slot for everything means either a full waiting room or an empty chair.
The forgotten annual check-up
It is half the recurring work of a practice, and it rests on people's memory.
Emergencies that land at the wrong moment
You need room for them, but not so much that you leave holes every day.
Reception overwhelmed on Monday morning
Everybody rings at once, and nobody gets through.

Practical guide: Dental practices
- One service per treatment, with its real duration. That is what empties the waiting room.
- Declare each chair as a resource: two treatments cannot occupy it at once.
- Keep two emergency slots a day, closed online, that reception opens by phone.
- The annual check-up booked on twelve-month recurrence at the end of the previous appointment.
- Open online booking for simple treatments only: the rest goes through the phone.
Frequently asked questions
Can I open only certain treatments online?
Yes, service by service. The rest stays on the phone.
How do I manage several chairs?
By declaring each one as a resource.
Can I recall annual check-ups?
Yes, with a recurring booking and a reminder.
Does Kagenda replace dental practice software?
No. It is a diary, and it holds no clinical records.
What registration does a UK dental practice need?
Two layers, and both are compulsory. Every clinician must be registered with the General Dental Council — dentist, hygienist, therapist, nurse, technician — and practising or using a protected title without registration is a criminal offence. Separately, in England the practice itself must be registered with the Care Quality Commission under the Health and Social Care Act 2008 and is inspected against the fundamental standards; Healthcare Improvement Scotland, Healthcare Inspectorate Wales and the RQIA play the equivalent role. Add HTM 01-05 for decontamination, IR(ME)R 2017 for radiography, and the GDC's requirement to display prices and complaint routes.
