Your Stripe account — the money arrives with you, directly

Every practitioner connects their own Stripe account and takes payment into it, with no middleman.

The problem

Many booking tools take the money on your behalf and pay it over afterwards. It looks convenient until the moment it stops being so: your cash flow depends on their payout schedule, a dispute goes through their customer service, and if the relationship ends, your flows end with it.

That architecture also creates an accounting ambiguity. Your clients' money passes through a third party before reaching you, which complicates reconciliation and the question of who is really taking what.

Connecting your own payment account turns the relationship around: the software triggers the charge, but the charge is yours.

How it works in Kagenda

Kagenda relies on Stripe Connect in Express mode. You create or connect a Stripe account in your own name, and payments arrive there.

  1. You start the connection from KagendaThe journey takes you to Stripe to create the account or link an existing one.
  2. Stripe verifies your identityIdentity document, information about the business, bank details. Stripe does the verifying, under its own obligations.
  3. Payments switch on by themselvesAs soon as Stripe says the account can take money, online payments come on in Kagenda. There is no switch for you to find.
  4. Payouts follow StripeThe funds arrive in your Stripe account and are then paid out to your bank on your account's schedule.

Frequently asked questions

Does the money pass through Kagenda?

No. Payments arrive in your Stripe account. Kagenda triggers the charge and attaches it to the right appointment, without holding the funds.

Do I need a company to open a Stripe account?

Stripe accepts sole traders. Which documents are asked for depends on your status and your country; Stripe sets the list, not Kagenda.

What happens if Stripe asks for further information?

Kagenda displays the outstanding requirements on your connected account, so that you know what is holding things up before payments stop.

Can I use Kagenda without online payment?

Yes. With no Stripe account connected, services stay free or payable on site, and everything else works normally.
